A family building company out of Central Texas, holding the same standard since 2001.
In 2001, our grandfather Johnnie Otto Kveton invited us out to his land in Comfort, Texas to help him build his house. Not hire someone. Build it. Nail by nail, board by board, no waste, done by supper.
He didn't teach us how to build houses that summer. He taught us how to do a job right. How to look at a piece of work and know, honestly know, whether it meets the standard or whether you're fooling yourself.
When we started Otto Design + Build, we named it after him. Not as a tribute, but as a promise. Every home we build carries his name, and that means it has to meet his standard. No shortcuts. No "good enough." Done right, or done again.
Andrew leads the design side of every project, from initial concepts through material selection and finish details. He's the one making sure the house looks and feels the way it should, and that every design decision is buildable, livable, and honest.
Peter runs the build. He's on site daily, managing subs, solving problems, and making sure the work matches the plan. If something isn't right, he catches it before the drywall goes up, and usually before anyone else notices.
If we say it, we mean it. If we quote it, that's the number. If we promise a timeline, we hit it or we tell you early why we can't. The relationship starts with trust, and we don't take that lightly.
Every decision, from framing to finish, gets the same question: would we live with this? If the answer is no, it doesn't go in your house. Or ours.
We're not project managers who show up for the walkthrough. We're on site, in the dirt, making decisions in real time alongside the people doing the work.
Our relationship doesn't end at closing. A year later, five years later, if something needs attention, you have our number. We stand behind the work because our name is on it.
They truly cared about our vision and helped us make the best decisions possible, ensuring we avoided common mistakes. They are still available to us 5 years later, always willing to help with any issues. We couldn't be more grateful.
Come see a build in progress, walk a finished home, or just sit down and talk about what you're thinking. We're real people. Let's have a real conversation.
